infusion pricing
I don't believe in "one-size-fits-all" pricing or design; I negotiate with my clients to arrange a fair price depending on the size, complexity, and functionality of the website they want built. That said, I can provide several basic figures as guidelines:
Basic
I would define a basic webpage as a 1-5 page site with information, light graphics, light styling, and maybe a contact form (much like this site). Websites like this are often referred to as "business card sites": they provide search-engine-friendly static information but no dynamic content. These sites are simple and inexpensive - the perfect "web presence" for a budding small business.
$55 - flat fee, to be paid after preliminary designs are approved and before the site is hosted.
Advanced
Heavily styled, graphic-laden (on request) site with up to a doezn pages, some dynamic content (light password protection, blog software, certain scripts), and search engine optimization. These websites are highly functional and difficult to design. Active small businesses and web-based freelancers should look into this option.
$90 - flat fee, to be paid after preliminary designs are approved and before the site is hosted.
Upkeep
Updates and non-routine maintenence is covered under this fee (non-routine being stylistic changes and structural updates). The upkeep plan exists for your convenience - if you buy it, I will be available to service your site at any time via email.
$5 per month - to be paid on the first of every month.
Prices may take some time to negotiate, but once I agree on a price I will not raise it for any reason until the project is complete. The first two plans include "routine" maintenence (I will keep the site functioning properly, and post small updates to contact information) for the duration of your site's life. I am also available to perform smaller web-related tasks, like non-themed forum or blog installation, upgrades/redesign/SEO for existing sites, and HTML emails - contact me to negotiate pricing. Please remember that these prices do not include server rent, which will be paid to a hosting company and not to me. Prices for hosting will vary based on the size and popularity of your website, but they will generally fall between $6 and $12 per month.
